Your 6.7 Cummins requires a lot of air! And sometimes the parts that came on the truck from the factory aren't designed for peak optimization of performance, they instead are designed for manufacturing efficiency. The Banks Ram Air intake replaces the factory intake with a part designed specifically and exclusively for airflow and power increases giving you 936 CFM or a 122% airflow increase over stock while keeping 49 States legal. Those are gains you'll notice from the moment you fire the truck up!

The biggest thing that sets out the Ram Air intake apart from the rest is that it comes with a #1 fuel line relocation kit so that it doesn't sacrifice any airflow to the engine, where other intakes will design their intake to sacrifice airflow by working around the fuel line. This gives the Banks intake a clear and distinct advantage over the rest of them!

Now Dual Heat Capable! The Monster-Ram still comes standard with the Banks 750-watt coil heater, but now you can add a second heater for up to 1500 watts of cold-start power, all without sacrificing airflow.

Part Number: 42797, 42797-PC, 42797-B

FEATURES

  • Raises boost without increasing turbine drive pressure
  • Eliminates the risk of engine failure due to parts loosening and falling into the engine while maintaining OEM-like cold weather engine start performance.
  • Banks-exclusive coil heater sits vertically inside the Monster-Ram without hindering airflow. This allows the factory grid heater to be replaced with the Banks High-Flow Billet Plate.
  • Includes High Flow Heater And Billet Intake
  • Larger and less restrictive than stock intake
  • Improves flow of oxygen-rich air into cylinders
  • Quicker throttle response
  • Optimizes air pressure and distribution
  • Outflows stock over 122%
  • 3-3/8" inlet
  • Four 1/8" NPT ports
  • Accommodates stock mounting points
  • Includes proprietary fuel line and all necessary hardware

NOTES

  • Will NOT fit Cab & Chassis Models.
  • Also Fits Dual-Alternator Engines
  • All emission systems are retained, maintaining 50 State compliance and a CARB-EO.

WHAT IT DOES

The Monster-Ram improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ New Coil Heater and High-Flow Billet Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF. That is a huge 88.3% improvement over stock you can feel!

The proprietary design raises boost without increasing back-pressure at the turbine. The result is improved engine response, efficiency, and headroom for daily driving and heavy hauling.

There are two devices on your Cummins engine that increase air density; the turbocharger and the intercooler.

Anything in the system that doesn’t create air density, cuts air density. Banks designed the Monster-Ram to get back that lost air density.

It's All About Mass Air Flow

The secret to the Monster-Ram's performance is not just airflow, but the quality and literal weight of the air it flows. Your Cummins engine is limited in the volume of air it can flow through its 6 cylinders even at max RPM.

By increasing the mass of the air delivered to each cylinder, your stock-tuned engine will breathe more efficiently with less stress and set the stage for huge power gains when stacked with a tune.

How It's Done

Your Cummins engine consumes a massive amount of air and struggles to breathe through its tiny, squashed inlet. The stock horn causes boost loss at the same flow while the Banks Monster-Ram has a wide, unrestricted, free-flowing path.

Stock versus Banks

Engineering a better solution

All other replacement manifolds are compromised thanks to the No. 1 fuel line, which obstructs the airflow path.

The Monster-Ram offers unparalleled airflow thanks to its custom-engineered fuel line.

All this without the need for tuning.

Monitor everything

If you have an existing iDash setup, the Monster-Ram has four 1/8 inch NPT ports for installing temperature, pressure, or flow sensors.

Cummins Ticking Time Bomb

Due to heat, vibration, and time, a nut and stud from the factory heater grid has been documented to come loose and fall into the intake manifold. Once this happens, it will roll downhill into cylinder #6, causing catastrophic failure that requires a complete engine rebuild or replacement from bent valves, damaged pistons, and head.
